Land Rover Restoration in Turkey: How Phoenix Works

Land Rover Defender Chassis

Phoenix Restorations is a Land Rover restoration shop in İzmir, Turkey, specializing in classic Series and Defender models up to the year 2000. If you’re researching a Turkey Land Rover restoration, whether you live here or you’re planning a project from abroad, this is how we work and what a build with us looks like.

Why build one in Türkiye

We’re based in İzmir, and the idea behind the company is simple. Build classic Land Rovers to the standard you’d expect from a top shop in Western Europe or the US, at a price that makes sense. Our team has more than 10 years of Defender experience, and we only work on Series and Defender models up to the year 2000. That narrow focus is deliberate. These cars reward people who know them well.

Start with a custom build

The route we lead with is a custom build. You give us a brief: the model you want, the spec, and how you plan to use the car, whether that’s weekend trail driving or a comfortable daily. We build it at our workshop in İzmir, funded by your deposit, and we talk through every real decision with you along the way.

Engine and gearbox choice is the biggest part of that conversation. We’ve written about how we think it through here, and if you want to know how a build runs from teardown to testing, the process page walks through it.

How we work with you

Your first conversation with us is in English, and so is everything after it: the brief, the plan, the updates. You don’t need to speak Turkish to follow what’s happening to your car.

You also won’t be left guessing. We send photos and video at the stages that matter, because chassis and body work is where a restoration is won or lost, and you should be able to see it for yourself. If you’re in Turkey, you can visit the workshop and see the cars in person.

If you’d rather skip the build

Some people don’t want a project, they just want the car. We also build vehicles to our own spec and sell them finished. You can see what we’ve completed on the restored Defender and restored Series pages.

What it costs and how long it takes

I’d rather be straight with you than quote a number that means nothing. Cost and timing depend on the model, the spec and how much work the car needs, which is why we scope a project only after we’ve talked it through with you. Our piece on why Defender restoration costs vary so much explains where the differences come from.

Ready to talk? Get in touch and tell us what you have in mind. If you already own a classic Land Rover in Turkey, mention it and we’ll tell you honestly what makes sense.
